Welcome to Math with Ms. Nies!

Hi there! My name is Mac Nies and I am a 6th grade math & Telescoped 7|8 teacher at Sanford Middle School. I started teaching at Sanford Middle School in 2019 and I am so excited for the upcoming school year! 

I grew up in Sartell, MN with my mom, dad, two brothers, and sister. I love spending time with my family (they are pretty cool people, if I do say so myself).

I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in December of 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Spanish, and Education. In the spring 2023, I completed my Master's Degree in Trauma and Resilience in Educational Settings at Concordia University, St. Paul. 

Some fun facts about me:

• My favorite color is purple!
• I love wearing fun pairs of glasses.
• I'm left handed.

I LOVE middle school! This is such a fun and exciting time. As a math teacher I believe that all students are capable of success, and it is my great joy and privilege to be able to work with students to make this happen. I look forward to a year full of laughs, growth, lots of learning, and being our true-amazing selves!
